I am professsionally trained as a Chocolatier & Cake Designer. I attended my first cake decorating class at the age of 16 after doing the O/Ls, in my home town Gampaha. I loved it. At the age of 20, I started to learn Cake Decorating from Cookery & Cake expert Mrs. Mallika Joseph formally, and I have learnt cake decorating from her for 3 years, Student’s Grade, Teacher’s Grade, & Special Grade, in 1987, 1988, &1989 respectively.
After completion, I attended the Cake Decorating class of Mrs. Seela De Silva in 1990, Sri Lanka’s first Wilton School USA, Diploma holder, and learnt Advanced Gum Paste & Foreign Methods and also the Lambeth Method, which she had learnt from the Wilton School. She was responsible for introducing to Sri Lanka for the first time, the Fine art of International Cake Decorating.
In the same year in 1990, I registerd myelf at the Wilton School USA, to study all their Professional Courses. During that time Wilton Enterprises Inc. did not even have a distributor for Sri Lanka. I left for Wilton School USA, in 1991 September, to learn Chocolate Artistry, Cake Decorating, & Sugar Artistry.
I am honoured and priviledged to have attended the Wilton School in that year when they had the complete two week professional courses, thus making me very highly priviledged to have an unchallenged single training in the country to be the only Sri Lankan to be fully trained for all Internationl Methods of Cake Decorating, Chocolate Artistry, & Sugar Artistry.
We blend art and science in the creation of these chocolates that will appeal to your senses and emotions.
